Query Letter

For agents and publishers. Book One. The letter, ready to read.

Book One stands alone. Do not attach the slide deck unless they ask. Manuscript and bible go on request.

Dear Agent,

I am seeking representation for my completed adult science fiction novel, Billy Thinx and the First Shadow (approximately 115,000 words), Book One of the Billy Thinx Saga — six completed novels, one companion chronicle, and a seventh novel in progress.

In the tradition of The Expanse and Stargate, this novel is a survival thriller that opens into a mythology — held together by a man and a dog who will not quit each other.

Logline:
A thirty-two-year-old Colorado geologist falls through the Rockies into an ancient war, wakes a dormant Codex in his blood, and learns that hidden governors have ruled Earth for millennia. His red heeler felt it first.

While hiking the Colorado backcountry, thirty-two-year-old geologist Billy Thinx is chased into a forgotten shaft and uncovers a Draconian stronghold — alien overlords who have sat behind human faces for millennia. Gravely injured, he is saved by Luriel, a Pleiadian envoy, and by a red heeler named Sydney who felt the spiral before he had a name for it. What wakes in his blood is the Codex: not a weapon, a remembrance. An interstellar council will not crown him. They will see whether a man who has seen the chairs will name them.

Billy Thinx and the First Shadow stands alone. It also opens a series that moves from hidden governors, to a human ideology that survives defeat, to a war against manufactured reality itself.

I am the author of The Time Blanket and other works of metaphysical fiction and spiritual non-fiction. I would be happy to provide the complete manuscript, the extended synopsis, or the series bible upon request.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Steve Irwin
