Approximately 115,000 words · Completed novel
Logline
A thirty-two-year-old Colorado geologist falls through the Rockies into an ancient war, wakes a dormant Codex in his blood, and learns that hidden governors have ruled Earth for millennia. His red heeler felt it first.
Overview
History was not lost. It was administered. Billy Thinx learns the names of the governors who kept the chairs. Sydney already has the scent. The first book is the door: desert, cave, frequency, and the price of saying the names out loud.
Book One stands on its own. It also opens a larger mythology — memory, choice, truth, identity, awakening — without requiring anyone to hear that list in the first meeting.
The hero
Billy Thinx
An ordinary man in extraordinary rooms. Not because of a prophecy. Because he will not stop looking for the truth.
The heart
Sydney
Red heeler. Telepathic. Friend. Witness. Hope. Her voice arrives not in the ear but in the mind — and their bond is the emotional center of the mythology. Beneath the wars and the worlds, this is a story about memory, loyalty, and love.
Comparables
The Expanse · Stargate SG-1
Same room. Different chair. Full notes live on the comparables page.
Why it is different
Most science fiction asks if we can survive. This one asks what makes us human. Wonder. Mystery. Meaning. Hope. Not a lecture. A man and a dog walking into the dark.
They never left the thrones. They only changed the faces.
